Springing Forward - Welcome!

I am excited to start this new blog to share life lessons with others!  I hope this blog will be a blessing to anyone who reads it.

A little bit about me: As a wife of 5 years and counting, a mother for about three years (counting pregnancy), I am learning and experiencing life from new perspectives with my family.  I have a son who is about two and half years old and a daughter who is 5 months old.  I want to share what I am teaching them and how each of them are growing and learning.  Some of my interests include singing, volleyball, hiking, reading and swing dancing.

Here is a detailed portrait of my son; I will refer to him as J throughout this blog.  He loves his grandparents, playing with kids, his little sister, the outdoors including hiking, anything with wheels, books, playing with building/lego blocks, music, animals, Daniel Tiger and Thomas the Train.  For him, upcoming posts will include potty training, books/reading and more.  He is "mostly" potty trained.  He is not yet reading on his own.  We love Usborne books.  He is a talker and we often say he is a "parrot" as he repeats what we say all the time.

My daughter's portrait; I will refer to her as S throughout this blog.  She is a happy baby, loves people/attention, especially loves her brother, is a great napper, sleeps at night, rolls both directions, can turn herself in circles, loves putting everything in her mouth, is showing interest in food as she sees people eating, and seems to enjoy music so far.  For her, upcoming posts will be about sleep training and introducing food in about a month.  I am recently sleep training her at night so she can transition to sleeping through the whole night without nursing and so she can sooth herself and not need a pacifier.

Both kids are great travelers.  My son has already been to four countries outside of the US and numerous states.  S's first big trip was to France this fall.  All of their grandparents live in other states, so we have plenty of reasons to travel.  I'm looking forward to posting about more of our travels.
