Focusing on Etsy

Last year I started an Etsy shop.  Being a stay at home mom and at the time the mother of one child I had a bit of time to focus on my knitting hobby and turn it into a business.  It was my first endeavor, but not my last.  My shop focus currently consists of seasonal items, so it went on hiatus for the warmer months.

Then after having my second child and traveling excessively in the fall (and early winter) I was not focused on getting my Etsy shop up and running again.

During my trip to Florida I set a few goals for myself since I knew when I was back home I would finally be home for a large chunk of time without travel to disrupt normal day to day (or business) activities.  It took me just a little over a week to get back into the swing of things at home and then focus on my shop - getting sick has had me drained and sidetracked as well.

Yesterday I took the pictures I needed to take of my products, I got most of my listings posted and then tonight I finished.  It is all up and ready and I am happy with the results.  Now the waiting for sales begins.

Now that it is done I am thankful that I knitted as much as I could in the warm months to stock up on inventory.  It is a challenge to get just the "business" side aspect (as previously mentioned, pictures, etc) done.  If my hands were busy knitting right now I would not be able to focus on my two children as much and my now mobile six month old needs much more attention.
